whilst efforts in the Suez Canal continue to dislodge thecontainer ship operated by Evergreen Marine, we havethis morning received reports of good progress 'overnight.After several days with dredging and excavation, the EverGiven ship has been refloated. it is not yet fully'dislodqedand it is too early to say when the Suez Canal willbecleared for operations again, but we are monitoring thesituation closely.A new advisory will be issued later todaywhen we have more information.
Currently Maersk and partners have three vessels stuckin the canal and 29 vessels waiting to enter the canal,with more expected to reach the blockaae todav.We haveuntil now redirected 15 vessels around the CaDe of GoodHoDe at the southern tiD of Africa. These decisions weremade close to the point of no return and it is expectedthat they will continue via the south of Africa,also toreduce the number of vessels in the queue.A'ssessingthe current backlog , of vessels, it could take 6..days ormore for the. complete queue ,to pass,conditional tosafety and other , operational circumstances.As morevessels either reach the blockage or is redirected, this isan estimate and is subject to change.
Even when the canal gets reopened, the ripple effects onglobal capacity and equipment are significant and theblockage has', already triggered .aseries of furtherdisruptions and backlogs in global shipping that could takeweeks, possibly months, to unravel."Your supply chain isof the utmost 'concern to us and we are closely followingthe. refloating operations and willdo our utmost tomitigate the impact as best as we can.
